Red Maple
Mr Little is the class teacher for Red Maple, with Mrs Cooke as the apprentice teacher, supported by Mrs Jones.
Children in Red Maple build upon the foundations of learning they have developed in their early years and begin to apply their skills and knowledge to a more extensive range of situations.

How many colours are there?
In our Learning Journey Topic we will:
- Use the story “The Day the Crayons Quit” to practise our writing skills, presentation and phonics.
- Learn about the primary and secondary colours, tints and shades and mixing colours.
Other Learning
- Learn about the properties of materials, and why certain materials are used for different purposes.
- Learn about the Christian Creation story.
- Begin our HeartSmart Journey – “Get HeartSmart!”

Reminders
- Please sign your child’s reading record every evening, after hearing them read and put it in their book bag every day.
- Spellings will come home on a MONDAY, and tested the following MONDAY.
- Please make sure that your child has their coat with them in school.
- Children need their Wellington boots in school for any visits to our woods.
- PE is every THURSDAY. Please make sure children come to school wearing their full PE kit.
