Pupils from all classes have been taking part in our Road Safety Week this week at school, completing traffic surveys, making posters and carrying out questionnaires with the local residents. The activities throughout the week helped pupils develop their understanding of the traffic issues, particularly at drop-off and pick-up times outside the school. On Thursday afternoon, the School Council worked with the Community Speedwatch Team to record the speeds of any traffic passing by the school – 48% of the vehicles seen were exceeding the speed limit! Children hope that their activities will help them and their parents think carefully about good driving and parking!
