“World Book Day was horrible”, says Mr Twit!

World Book Day

As always, the pupils and staff at Beckley got fully involved with celebrating World Book Day on 3rd March this year. The entire school dressed up in  costumes to represent a character for their favourite books and the school ran a series of activities and events to celebrate reading. The children particularly liked the ‘Mystery Reader’ event in the afternoon. In the morning, each pupil chose from a list of  book extracts or stories being read by a member of staff, without knowing which member of staff it would be. Time in the afternoon was spent listening to the story they had chosen to hear, and discovering who the member of staff was reading it to them!

The day was a great success and reinforced the love of reading and the wealth of amazing books available to enjoy. Well done everyone for getting so involved in the day! Even Mr Twit was caught smiling on one occasion!
