After months of hot, sunny summer days, our sports day took place last week on an overcast and showery afternoon! However, this didn’t stop the many parents and visitors coming along to support the whole school taking part in an excellent afternoon of sports events. 
All in all, there were 60 races, from sack races, egg and spoon, hurdles and obstacle races to a huge whole-school relay race to finish with. Our Sports Coach, Mr Bourne along with the Year 5 and 6 Sports Leaders worked really hard to set up and run the races, making sure that equipment was set out for each race. Our pupils had a fantastic time, with Team Woodpecker being the overall winners in a very close competition. We want to give a great big ‘thank you’ to all the staff, pupils and parents for making this year’s Sports Day such a great occasion.
