In the final week of the academic year, we held our ‘Brilliant Beckley’ open evening and open morning, inviting parents and the local community into school to see the wonderful things that our pupils have been doing throughout the year. Each classroom was packed full of work and displays that illustrated the many exciting, inspiring and impacting learning journeys the pupils have been on. Alongside this, pupils were able to show photos, written work, artefacts made and investigations carried out that highlighted all of the enrichment opportunities we have run to support and enhance their learning.

The school hall was turned into an ‘art gallery’ for our whole-school exhibition that was based upon and inspired by our recent school trip to the Hastings Contemporary Art Gallery. Here, large paintings, mono-prints, relief collages, pastel drawings and self-portraits, in the style of Quentin Blake were all on display. The fantastic art work produced by the whole school typifies our key vision of encouraging everyone to grow as ‘Successful Learners’, ‘Confident Individuals’ and also ‘Caring Citizens.’

Well done Beckley, we have most definitely ‘let our light shine’!
