This week, we held our Harvest Service in a packed out Beckley Church, where families and local residents joined with us to celebrate harvest-time and thank God for all His provision. Each class contributed to the service with poems, performance songs, prayers written by the pupils and readings. Our guests joined in with our singing of some rousing versions of traditional ‘harvest-festival’ songs such as, ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’ and ‘Autumn Days’. Mr Thurston gave a talk based on the question: ‘Do We Harvest Donuts?’, which started off with a competition to see if pupils could eat a donut without licking their lips!

Pupils and their families showed tremendous generosity by bringing in a large number of food donations over the week that were displayed at the church service and will be taken to the local Foodbank at the end of the week. It was as always, a real celebration of ‘all good gifts around us’ that we can be thankful for.
