Evergreen class recently returned from a fantastic residential week at Kench Hill, near Tenterden, where they enjoyed all sorts of outdoor learning and fun. A visit to Leeds Castle, sand dune fun at Camber Sands, shelter building and a night walk in the countryside were a few of the activities enjoyed by the Year 5 and 6 pupils. Alongside the organised events, pupils had the opportunities to build their relationships with one another and with their class teaching staff and for some, this was their first experience of being away from home. The weather was kind, the food was excellent and the Kench Hill staff were amazingly helpful too. Most of all however, this was a wonderful opportunity for pupils to grow in confidence, take responsibility, push themselves in unfamiliar situations and develop their independence. Of course, none of this would have happened if it wasn’t for the incredible hard work of Mrs Morley, Mrs Grice and Mrs Maxwell , organising the trip for months beforehand and then working long hours on the trip itself!
