Pink Day for Cancer Charity
On Thursday this week, Beckley turned pink! Every year we hold a Pink Day to raise money for Breast Cancer research. The children are encouraged to wear something pink and bring in cakes they have made to sell after school.
This day has become a regular event for the school, after a member of staff and a parent we both affected by breast cancer. As a result, the school decided to join with them and raise money for the Support Breast Cancer charity for their research and support. Children, and staff all made a donation to wear something pink, and were joined by parents for a giant cake sale at the end of the school day. We are incredibly grateful to all those parents and pupils who bought cakes and made donations. Their amazing generosity has meant we raised well over £300! Well done to everyone involved…including ‘Pepper Pig’!
