It’s World Book Day, with pupils and staff celebrating the wonders of reading with a series of fun activities and events throughout the day. Everyone was encouraged to come to school dressed as a character from a  book they really like, taking part in ‘partner reading with a buddy’, talking to class mates about their character they have come dressed in, and listening to a story from the ‘mystery reader’ in the afternoon.

However, one person who doesn’t seem to be enjoying the day at all is Ebenezer Scrooge, the main character from A Christmas Carol, but Charles Dickens. In fact, he seemed intent on stopping the children having any fun at all, claiming that they were not here to have fun, but to work, and work harder! He really is a miserable old man! We’re certain that he won’t succeed though – World Book Day is always one of our most popular days of the school year…so let the fun begin!
