Over the past few weeks, our Y5 and 6 pupils have taken part in  various sports competitions against other schools in East Sussex and have been stunningly successful each time!

After some incredible individual performances in the Hastings and Rother cross-country much earlier in the year, several children moved on to compete in the Sussex Cross-Country County Finals last month. These were held in Brighton, in terrible weather conditions and although they didn’t win, our superstars all delivered their personal best performances with fantastic efforts from each of them.

Last week, our Tag Rugby team won the Hastings and Rye  Area Tag Rugby Tournament in really impressive style. They dominated the tournament, winning every one of their matches! Competition was tough, with some schools having about 7 times the number of pupils, but our team showed a huge amount of belief and trust in themselves and each other to play some superb and exciting rugby. Their tournament success was really well deserved and their attitude was outstanding.

This week, the Year 5/6 football team took part in a tournament held at Buckswood, a local independent school. Once again, teams from right across the Hastings, Rye and Rother area took part and, once again,

Beckley won every match to be crowned tournament winners! After coming top in their group, they moved into the knockout stage of the tournament, reaching the final where they came up against local rivals and partner school, Peasmarsh. The final was an excellent game with Beckley winning 2 – 0. Once more, as well as playing terrific football, what made us so proud was the outstanding attitude shown by all of our players throughout the competition. The pupils were an absolute credit to the school and we are really proud of them.

Well done to our Sensational Sporting Superstars!
