We have been so thrilled to see how well the children in Acorns, our Reception class have settled in to starting school. This has been their first week at Beckley and we don’t underestimate just how a big a step it is for the children to begin the journey of full-time education. Throughout the week, Acorns class have gradually increased the time spent in school, with  Thursday and Friday being their first full days.

We are delighted to see how the class have gelled together and how quickly they are adapting to the new routines of school life at Beckley. The staff in Acorns class have visited the home of each child over the last few days, meeting the children in their home environment, with their parents. This helps the links between ‘home’ and ‘school’ to begin to form quickly. This relationship is so vital and we are really thankful to all our parents who are being so engaged with the school, helping to ensure that our Acorn children have the best start possible.
