Last week, our Year 6 pupils joined with  hundreds of others  from many local schools at the Year 6 Diocesan Leavers Service, held at St Matthews Church in St Leonard’s on Sea. This annual event is one of 15 services for all the Year 6 pupils in Church of England schools throughout the Diocese of Chichester and is a key opportunity to look back and celebrate the time pupils have spent in their primary school before they start their new secondary schools in September. We believe this is a really important time for our Year 6 pupils at Beckley –  a mixture of excitement and some inevitable nerves too, as they step out of the familiarity of being at Beckley and step into a brand new phase of their lives. The Leavers Service is a wonderful occasion, where the Year 6 pupils from all the schools can share in these experiences, looking back at memories from before and looking forward to what lies ahead.

At this time of year, our Year 6 pupils are involved in a number of events to mark the end of their time at Beckley. The Leavers Service is special however, because it helps our pupils to appreciate that they are not alone, but are part of a new wave of pupils, starting a new adventure together.
